In comes today's set, which is as extensive as it gets. The album features the MX5 from every possible angle, leaving no room for doubt as to the rounded unibody design, the camera placement or the Samsung-like elliptical home button. So, with the phone's exterior completely revealed, the only thing left to ponder on is the hardware right? Well, actually, rumors have been so plentiful and extensive that we might just be able to piece together the whole picture.
Thanks to a recent benchmark page, we can be quite confident that the Meizu MX5 will feature a 5.5-inch FullHD display and run Android 5.0.1 out-of-the-box. Memory is set at 3GB and 16GB for onboard storage. Underneath the hood, there should be a Mediatek MT6795T SoC, also known as Helio X10, which was subject to a lot of speculation, so there might still be a little room for surprise come June 30.
There's a 20.7MP primary camera on the back of the handset, which is capable of 2160p video recording. On top of that, the 5MP selfie snapper can also shoot 1080p videos. The battery inside is said to have a capacity of 3150 mAh, complemented by a new fast charging technology - mCharge, capable of juicing the MX5 from zero to 25% in 10 minutes. We have even received an alleged Geekbench score for the phone. At around 5300 points, Meizu's latest flagship is treading in Samsung Galaxy S6 territory, which, if confirmed, will pit it against the current mobile titans.
To top things off, we even have some idea of the phone's price tag. A previous rumor puts it at ¥1,799 (about $290), which hints at flagship performance at a mid-range price point - the ultimate industry dream!
A higher end Meizu MX5 Pro will also be announced in the near future. The device might feature a 6” QHD display, Exynos 7420 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and 20MP camera.
